Children taking part in a DanceSyndrome inclusive dance session in a school setting.DanceSyndrome is delighted to be launching two brand new inclusive dance sessions for children and young people in Chorley this February.

At DanceSyndrome, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. Since we were founded in 2009 by Jen Blackwell, who has Down’s Syndrome, our co-production model has brought people with and without learning disabilities together as equal partners in dance. Our Dance Leaders with learning disabilities work alongside professional Dance Artists to create sessions that are welcoming, empowering and accessible to everyone.

Now, thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, we’re creating new pathways for children and young people with learning disabilities to enjoy accessible dance from an early age, leading up to our established adult Everybody Dance sessions across Lancashire.

Introducing Everybody Dance: Juniors and Everybody Dance: Teens

We are launching two new inclusive dance sessions for children and young people in Chorley:

Everybody Dance: Juniors – for ages 7–11

Everybody Dance: Teens – for ages 11–14

Both sessions are fully inclusive and suitable for all abilities. Whether your child wants to learn new performance skills or is just looking to build confidence in a supportive group, they will be warmly welcomed. Our trained dancers, with and without learning disabilities, lead creative, adaptable dance activities that can be shaped around each young person’s individual needs. We believe that everyone benefits when children of all abilities learn, move and create together.
