Accessibility & Support

Supportive groupDanceSyndrome is committed to offering wide-ranging “Accessibility & Support” to ensure that people who wish to access our services are empowered to do so.

We try to consider any potential barriers to participation and aim to address a wide range of accessibility issues which participants may face. Examples of issues that participants may face might include:

– Technical limitations
– Transport difficulties
– Financial hardship
– Support/care constraints

Where any issues that arise are with our own systems, wherever possible, we will adapt and offer alternative solutions to enable the person to participate as easily as possible.

Where the issue is financial hardship, we have a procedure for considering requests for support which is detailed below.

If issues are outside of our control, we aim to offer helpful information and signpost people to other services which may be able to offer support with that specific issue.

Anyone who is experiencing issues with accessing DanceSyndrome activities, for any reason, can get in touch with us and tell us what support is needed and we will do all that we can to help.

This can be done by contacting the Managing Director, Julie Nicholson, using the following contact details:

Financial Support

Where financial support is needed, this will be considered on an individual basis and taking into account the financial situation that DanceSyndrome is in at the time of the request.

– Financial support will only be offered in the form of a budget allocated to the individual to use against the session fees for attending DanceSyndrome provision.
– Financial support will be time-limited and reviewed regularly
– There will be an annual budget allocated to support those who need financial support and this will be a capped amount for the financial year dependent on how much grant funding we have as an organisation during that year.
– A working group, formed by Trustees of the charity, will assess all requests for financial support on a case-by-case basis and make all final decisions.

The process for requesting financial support is as follows:

All requests for support should be made in writing to the Managing Director, Julie Nicholson. This can be done via julie@dancesyndrome.co.uk or via post to:

DanceSyndrome
C/O Pathways Associates
Suite 2, Waterside
St James Court West
Accrington
BB5 1NA

The Managing Director will make contact with the person making the request to establish the full situation and will then present this to the working group.

The working group of Trustees will assess the situation and make the final decision on how to proceed.

The Managing Director will not be responsible for making the decision.
