Inclusion in Action

Inclusion in Action explores DanceSyndrome’s approach to inclusivity. Our inclusion workshops examine inclusive practice from the perspective of people with learning disabilities.

We look at specific barriers that people with learning disabilities may face and consider how we can break down these barriers in our own settings.

We aim to support participants who aspire to work more inclusively by creating a safe space to reflect on individual practice, connect with others and consider the experience of those around them through the lens of “inclusion”.

This workshop can be co-delivered to anyone and everyone. Examples of previous participants include; In-patient Ward Managers working on the frontline in Mental Health Services; Learning Disabled Nurses and Clinical Psychologists working across different clinical settings; Undergraduates and Trainees in Social Care, Health and Wellbeing and Dance; Day Service Teams; Care Agencies; Teachers in Educational Settings; Arts Organisations and Corporate Organisations.

Breaking Down Barriers

Breaking Down Barriers explores DanceSyndrome’s approach to inclusivity. We will look at barriers people with learning disabilities may face and explore how we can break down some of these barriers in the dance studio.

We believe that everybody can dance and that there is no right or wrong way to move & there is beauty and significance in everyone’s movement.

These inclusion workshops are ideal for dancers in training/education, Community Dance Artists and Dance Teachers in traditional dance settings.
