Becky Rich is taking on a 63-day triathlon challenge to raise funds and awareness.
Becky Rich, age 35 from Fulwood, is a Dance Leader, Spokesperson and Ambassador for DanceSyndrome. Becky has Down’s Syndrome herself and is a passionate advocate for disability rights and inclusion. She has been involved with DanceSyndrome’s work for 12 years now and works tirelessly to promote the charity’s message that people with learning disabilities can achieve amazing things when they are given the right support.
Becky loves to go out into the community to tell people about DanceSyndrome’s life-changing impact, and she regularly arranges fundraising activities to help the charity to continue it’s work. In 2026, she has taken on her biggest challenge yet.
When asked to explain her latest campaign and what she hopes to achieve, Becky said “I am proud to have Down’s Syndrome. Trisomy 21 is one of the types of Down’s Syndrome and that means that there is a third copy of chromosome 21. Because of this I thought a triathlon was a good way to raise money for my charity. Every day I will throw 210 boxing punches, walk or dance at least 2,100 steps and cycle for 21 minutes on my exercise bike. I am going to do three 21-day challenges to make 63 days in total and I will be finishing on the 21st March 2026 which is World Down’s Syndrome Awareness Day.
“I am raising money for my charity DanceSyndrome, where I am a Dance Leader, Spokesperson and Ambassador. DanceSyndrome’s work is important to show people what we can do and how we can be part of something bigger. People with learning disabilities and different needs can grow their confidence and enjoy new opportunities. There are many benefits from getting involved. We help people when they need it and encourage people to join in. The work is very important.
“This is why I am trying to get donations and make people more aware about what we do. Our charity means a lot to us and we want it to continue for a long time so we can all live life to the fullest, have bright futures and have the best opportunities in life.”
