Recognised International Thought Leader (Gold & Silver Stevie Awards 2024), Sue has always been a Disruptor for Good. Following her heart Sue believes in a society where everyone belongs as equals including those historically marginalised. She challenges inequitable societal norms and is turning the world upside down through her writing, speaking. Sue continues to champion and support DanceSyndrome, the charity she co-founded with her daughter Jen in 2009.
Having experienced an upbringing in Quakerism and a classical music training at Royal College of Music, Sue says her career was chosen for her when her first born child, Jen, was born with Down’s syndrome. Having spent time volunteering with the homeless in London, social justice is a core value. Sue believes that every person has the right to belong, be seen and valued, embraced and supported as the unique individual they are contributing to society.
Sue says, “We’ve created a movement for social change, turning challenges into opportunities. We witness people with intellectual disabilities becoming leaders and contributing to society. We are unleashing energy and positivity latent within the world’s largest minority.
“We KNOW what’s possible when we give the right support to everyone.”
