Sophie graduated from Exeter University in 2011 with a 1st Class BA (Hons) degree in Drama. Prior to her studies she trained at the Elizabeth Hill School of Dance and Drama for 15 years, where she completed both RAD and ISTD exams to an Advanced Level. Sophie now works as a freelance Dance and Drama artist performing and teaching across the UK. Sophie has also choreographed for dance platforms, national competitions and musicals, such as A Chorus Line at the Exeter Northcott, and has appeared as a dancer on the BBC and in the Closing Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games.
Sophie joined DanceSyndrome in 2012 and was given the role of Lead Artist in 2013, before becoming Artistic Director in 2021. Sophie’s role has been integral to the success of DanceSyndrome and she has been responsible for the development of all of the methodologies used in our current provision.
