Professor Paul Bacon joined DanceSyndrome as Chairman in September 2015. His professional experience includes clinical medicine, medical research, and charity work largely related to helping people with chronic disabilities due to arthritis. Paul is currently Emeritus Professor in the Division of Immunity & Infection at the University of Birmingham and was previously founding holder of Chair of Rheumatology at Birmingham Arthritis Resource Centre. Paul and his wife “retired” to the Ribble Valley 18 months ago to be near one of their daughters and their grandchildren. Paul’s significant experience working in healthcare and charity settings will be invaluable to DanceSyndrome. He is keen to promote the physical and mental health benefits of dance, as well as striving to achieve financial stability for the charity.
